“City of New Orleans”
Arlo Guthrie - 1978
So, Thanksgiving got me to thinking about Arlo Guthrie (naturally) and how I saw him once at this little music festival near Bear Mountain, NY circa 1980. He didn’t play Alice’s Restaurant but he did play this, one of the greatest Train Songs ever, from a son who has his father’s own magic.
♬ good morning America, how are you?
say, don’t you know me? i’m you’re native son ♬
